Spring in Illinois can be snow one day and warm balmy temps the next. One thing I know for sure is that its usually going to be stark, muddy and wet at most of the locations I love to us. Flowers and Green buds on trees generally do not show up this early in the Spring. My two Senior Models for the 2019 Class joined me on a little fun Challenge for their 2nd of four Senior Model Experiences. I am loving this opportunity to Photograph Seniors in more than one session. Their first session was snow and cold weather temps. We decided to try an interesting and fun session for the second. A lot of you may not have heard of this, but its called the Michaels Challenge. Yes, the store Michaels. I am not sure who started it, but it has exploded on social media sites with the hashtag #MichealsChallenge
I knew it would be a Challenge to work with fake flowers, price tags, store employees working and customers roaming the store. The worst part of it is the weird store lighting. Thankfully I am a Professional at Post Editing my images. I was nervous at first, which is not something I say often after 10 years as a Professional Photographer. However, once I started working on the images, I was so glad I pushed myself. Sometimes its great to work outside your normal box of tricks.
Enjoy a handful of the images from our unique Senior Session with Sidney (Taylorville Illinois High School and Grace (Lincoln Illinois Community High School).
